Tropical and Karnak, along with Marlin Construction, partner with commercial and institutional building owners addressing needs for varying roof applications and solutions that meet key financial, operational, and environmental needs for its clients.  All those responsible for roof care and maintenance will benefit from an investment in a roofing system and roof maintenance program incorporating Tropical and Karnak products which include:  professional grade adhesives, mastics, coatings and restoration systems for BUR, Modified Bitumen, Metal, Concrete, PUR, and Single-Ply roofing systems. 

TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) – Characteristics such as:

• being a low cost system,
• offering very good solar reflectivity,
• being easy to repair,

have allowed TPO to be the most popular single ply roof membrane used today.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) – PVC offers superior resistance to animal fats, chemicals, greases and oils exhausted onto restaurant roof tops. With a high resistance to fire PVC provides added protection against grease or oil fires. These qualities combined with an Energy Star Solar Reflectance of .87 makes PVC an excellent choice for restaurant roof systems and those that want the qualities PVC provides.

EPDM – (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) – EPDM is a synthetic rubber roof membrane that has successfully served cooler climates for several decades. Many EPDM roof systems were covered with ballast (small stones for solar reflectance). Recently, EPDM has gained popularity on all climates with the introduction of solar reflective white as an option. Production now includes factory made seams which reduce to risk of field fabricated seam issues. EPDM has a proven track record and offers roof system design solutions for roofs that require special specifications.

Low slope roofs, or flat roofs as they are commonly referred to, provide many benefits in the curb appeal of a residential building. However, these roofs can be very challenging if not impossible to maintain or repair for the inexperienced roofer.

At Marlin Construction we specialize in these roofs. It is what we do every day. Our personnel are specifically trained in the concepts of low slope roof systems. With our experience, continuing education, employee training programs and certified installer certifications with Versico and Mule-Hide we are an excellent choice for the homeowner with a low slope roof.
